Frequently asked questions and instructions
The most common questions we get from our clients
Did you know that tanning beds are considered a group 1 carcinogen, right along with tobacco, asbestos and arsenic? Using a tanning bed just 20 times increases your risk of skin cancer by an incredible 75%! Spray tanning is a healthy alternative to the harmful UV ray accompanied with tanning beds. A tan is not worth dying for.
You are encouraged to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, rather it be your birthday suit, a bathing suit, or anything else you feel happy in during your tan and then for after it is recommended you wear dark loose clothing.
I understand the thought of nudity is terrifying to some but have no fear of judgement here; I am a mom of 4 rocking a SERIOUS mom bod so embrace your body and get ready to be a glowing goddess!
The typical spray tan will last 7-10 days with proper care and upkeep.
It is important to follow the steps listed on our Tan Care page to get the best quality tan possible.
Tan Care
How to prepare for an airbrush tan:
Thoroughly shower, shave, and exfoliate before tanning. It is ideal for skin to be bare so it is important to remove all makeup, lotions and deodorant (we do offer cleansers to remove deodorant and make up if necessary). We recommend shaving and exfoliating 12 hours before your appointment in order for your pores to close before your tan. If you would like to wax before a tan we suggest waiting 24 hours after waxing to get a tan.
Staying hydrated and moisturized 2 weeks before your tan will give your tan a longer life and an even healthier glow; so drink 1/2 your weight in oz of water a day and moisturize well each night before bed.
Manicures, pedicures and massages should be done prior to spray tanning.
It is also important to remove all prior tan residues before your next appointment, we have the PERFECT product to help with this just ask! Unlike the sun where it is ideal to build on the tan, airbrush tanning works best when all prior tan residues are removed.
Do not shower, work out or make contact with ANY liquid until AFTER you have rinsed. Avoid using Dove or Dial products to maintain your tan. It is best to use mild, moisturizing liquid soaps when showering. Use shaving cream or hair conditioner when shaving. Avoid exfoliates such as salt, sugar, or beaded scrubs at all costs. Exfoliating will only speed up the fading process.
The most important thing you can do to maintain your tan is to MOISTURIZE & HYDRATE! The dryer your skin is the quicker it will fade. Best time to moisturize is after your shower. Check out some of our amazing moisturizes which can help elongate the life of your tan.
